Three Generations of Love — Raquel’s In-Home Newborn Session
Some sessions just stay with you… and Raquel’s was one of those. This sweet girl’s newborn session was overflowing with love, warmth, and the kind of connection that reminds you why capturing these early days is so special.
Raquel’s session took place right in the comfort of her own home—yes, this was one of my in-home mobile studio sessions (which always brings such a cozy, relaxed vibe!). The moment I walked in, I could feel just how loved this little girl is. Not only were both mom and dad fully present, but both sets of grandparents were there too—one set local to Ottawa, and the other all the way from Spain! Talk about making memories that span continents.
We started the session slow and gentle, as Raquel was dealing with a little bit of gas and was totally overtired. Poor baby girl just needed some extra cuddles and care to help settle her tummy and drift off to sleep. Once she was comfortable and calm, we began with the most heart-melting family poses… yes, the entire family. Everyone gathered together to celebrate Raquel’s arrival—it was beautiful and emotional and so, so full of joy.
After that, we captured individual moments with each set of grandparents, giving them their own quiet time to connect with their granddaughter in front of the lens. Then came intimate portraits with mom and dad—simple, emotional, and full of tenderness. It was clear how deeply this little one is cherished.
To finish off, we moved into the classic posed portraits—starting with a sweet bucket setup alongside her adorable elephant stuffie (which I’m sure will be a forever keepsake!). Then we transitioned into dreamy table poses, with all those soft, creamy wraps and textures. And of course, we couldn’t skip the tiny details: macro shots of Raquel’s precious little feet and hands. I mean… those tiny toes? Perfection.
As we were wrapping up, the smell of lunch started to fill the air—dad was cooking for the whole family, just casually making everyone a meal while his baby girl snoozed peacefully nearby. It was such a wholesome moment to end on.
This session was everything I love about what I do—connecting families, capturing love in all its forms, and preserving these fleeting newborn days in a way that can be held onto forever.
Raquel, you are so deeply loved. 💕
