I couldn’t help but feel overjoyed when Rochelle shared the news that her beautiful baby boy, Douglas, had arrived. From the very beginning, I already knew her vision for this session: timeless simplicity, intimate family moments, and the kind of detail shots that preserve every delicate feature of a newborn.
Their session was nothing short of magical. Love flowed through the room — in the way Rochelle’s eyes softened as she held her son, in the gentle strength of Mike’s arms (and yes, not Rob — our little inside joke!), and in the sweet curiosity of big sister Jenny as she leaned in to admire her baby brother. Jenny’s pride and tenderness were absolutely heart-melting, and it was clear she’s already stepping beautifully into her role as a big sister.
Douglas himself was a dream. He settled so peacefully, allowing us to capture everything from serene family portraits to the tiniest details — his soft lashes, curled fingers, and perfect little toes. These fleeting details are often the first to be forgotten, which is why they’re among the most treasured to preserve.
What I loved most about this session was the harmony of it all: the simplicity of the styling, the deep bond between parents and children, and the artistry of freezing this moment in time. Sessions like this remind me why I am so passionate about fine art newborn photography. It’s more than a gallery of images — it’s a visual legacy, one that Douglas and his family will cherish for generations.
Welcome to the world, sweet Douglas. You are deeply loved, and it was an honor to create the first chapter of your story in photographs.
