Two years ago, we captured Lorissa’s first maternity session at the beach, and honestly? I didn’t think we could top it. But this evening at the Arboretum in Ottawa proved me so wrong in the best possible way.
We started off in the softest, creamiest boho gown, surrounded by lush summer greenery and the warmest hugs of nature. The light filtered through the trees just right, and the moment felt almost enchanted. That is… until a sneaky little raccoon decided he was the star of the show! 🦝 We couldn’t stop laughing — it was the most random and hilarious little moment that made the day even more memorable.
We wandered down to the water, laughing, chatting, and soaking in the magic of it all. But can we just talk about the tree shot?! Lorissa climbed up like an absolute goddess, and the way the light hit her eyes — it was straight-up fire. I still can’t get over that photo.
Once we made it to the water’s edge, she changed into this ethereal baby blue gown that flowed like a dream. And then golden hour hit — like, full-on golden glow perfection. Everything looked like a painting. The calmness of the water, the softness of her expression, the colors all blending together like a lullaby… it was just one of those “you had to be there” kind of moments.
We wrapped up the evening just sitting, catching up, and watching a beautiful proposal unfold in the distance. Like… come on! Could the universe be any more poetic?
This session was pure magic from beginning to end — full of laughter, soft light, and deep connection. Lorissa, you’re radiant, and I’m beyond grateful to document this next chapter of your motherhood journey. 💛
